Sex Therapy: Deepening Intimacy with Self & Others

Sex therapy is a specialized therapeutic modality designed to help people explore their sexuality, including behaviors, physiological, and psychological issues that an individual or couple/open/poly relationships may encounter.

Sex is a natural and vital part of life, but it can also be a source of stress, confusion, and disconnection. For queer, trans, and BI&POC communities, conversations about sex are often fraught with cultural shame, religious stigma, and systemic oppression, which limit access to affirming resources.

I believe pleasure is sacred, political, and essential to overall health. Therapy for sexual concerns offers an opportunity to explore your sexuality, access pleasure, and enhance intimacy. It is a chance to give yourself permission to envision what a liberating and empowering sexual life can look like.

Sex therapy can be useful to anyone, but this work is especially powerful for clients who:

  • Are healing from sexual trauma or shame

  • Have internalized harmful messages around sex, gender and desire

  • Feel disconnected from their bodies or pleasure due to systemic or relational harm

  • Are redefining intimacy after life-changing illnesses, including cancer, or other chronic illnesses

Common issues we can address together include:

  • Low or absent desire & desire discrepancies

  • Erectile Dysfunction (ED) & ejaculation concerns

  • Difficulties with orgasm

  • Pain during sex (e.g., vaginismus, dyspareunia)

  • Improving intimacy and communication

  • Concerns related to sexual identity or orientation

It's important to know that sex therapy is a collaborative process. Our sessions involve conversation and education—there is no physical contact or sexual activity involved.

I am a sex-positive therapist trained through the California Institute of Integral Studies’ Sex Therapy Certificate Program and am currently pursuing AASECT certification. My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space to equip you with the knowledge and tools to break down barriers, foster open communication, and build a more fulfilling and confident intimate life.
